Northlit was founded in Taupo, New Zealand by business entrepreneur and passionate property developer Matthew Laity. It began when he was involved in trying to find a suitable and desirable retirement home for his grandparents, quickly to discover a significant lack in the market. Following the project management of a custom build for them and becoming aware of the imminent retiring baby-boomer generation, Northlit was formed. Focused on retirement living to start with, it’s scope has since expanded and now serves the vision of conceiving and developing a wide range of property ventures that depict thoughtfulness and excellence in design and construction.

MATTHEW LAITY (Managing Director)
Matthew leads the land acquisition and property design of Northlit's developments. His attention to detail and dedication to quality is unwavering. Matt’s married to Summer Laity and they have four young children. He was born in Auckland and moved to Taupo as a child with his family for lifestyle reasons. He is passionate about community and using his resources to better the lives of others.
